Critters and Things That Go Boo

Welcome to

Happiness for our critters
is defined in many non material ways.
Unless you're referring to balls and bones
of course.

Or ice cream for that matter.

Ice cream licks are the best ever!

Their ability to love
and share compassion,
and their capacity to allow us to feel joy
spreads endlessly to every moment of our day.

We know their life
serves a purpose,
and a connection to us all
so that together
our love and creative powers
 spread over the universe.

A strange thing happened on the way to my bookshelf-

"Boo!"

Thank goodness for all the silly
critters we meet too,
because it brings
 inner fulfillment to all!

Yikes. Did those feet just move?

"Happy to meet you.  Are you a real person inside of there?"

A wee bit spooky there kiddo!

Horrifying, eerie, creepy, spine-chilling something!

"Words are clothes that thoughts wear."
Samuel Butler

Meet a musical playing,
Hair-raising, long-haired hairy Elmo!

"Beware of the night, child.  All cats are black in the dark!"
(even wooden ones)
Jean Genet

From my house to your house
and all across Bloggerland
Happy weekend
 to all and
take good care of you!
Thanks for stopping by.

Fence Encounters

"Forever is composed of nows."
Emily Dickinson

Good morning dear friends.

GOOD FENCES

A Fence Encounter
Stolen Moments
Shared.

"Stolen Moments, create a feeling of enjoyment in our
"intensive time" awareness.
The glow and the intensity of those instants can guide us
throughout a whole lifetime.
They can expose a second or a third dimension
of the daily events
and shed an expounding light
on all the little details we encounter."
Erik Pevernagie

"Some moments are nice,
some are nicer,
some are even worth writing about."
Charles Bukowski

"This moment.
 It is round,
it hangs in empty space like a little diamond;
 I am eternal."
Jean-Paul Sartre

"We are all travelers
in the wilderness of this world,
and the best we can find in our travels
is an honest friend."
Robert Lewis Stevenson

Screens and Critters

Catching up on this week's posts

It's been a busy week of work, MEA for school children and
not enough free time for the computer.

Plowing through life the best way we know how.
Living it.

So for those bloggers who always catch my attention.

I'm way late to post for Good Fences, so holding that until this next week.

Hooray
Carmi has issued
SCREENS
as our
theme this week

How many screens do we really need?

Well-

I'm also including 12 italic words
that link to
WORDS FOR WEDNESDAY

So says the wise Pumpkin person,

One adorable prank in the arms of say an astronaut or a bootlegger and his wolf,
may bring to light a tad bit of hostility or a crime to regret,
bringing forth the guillotine and staging a prophecy for all parties to bear.

SATURDAY'S CRITTERS

What do you call a crying camel?

Answer: A humpback wail.

Never follow the crowd.
Unless, you're a goat and they have food!
Or the building you're in is on fire!
Yikes run!

Why not-

"Just be yourself
everyone else is already taken."
Oscar Wilde

"When you get lost in a really strange place,
(or are totally confident that you are forever lost)
nothing is more comforting than
finding your way out."

It happens every time we enter Sever's Corn Maze.
It's that twisted.

It's been a wonderful week especially for those of us still able to enjoy autumn.
I say thank goodness for that and for you all
taking time to stop by!

Take good care of you!

Not Just Another Day

Greetings!

"The great art of giving consists in this
the gift should cost very little
and yet be greatly coveted,
so that it may be the more
highly appreciated."
Baltasar Gracian

"The essence of all art is to have pleasure in giving pleasure."
Dale Carnegie

Not Just Another Day
but rather
a hodgepodge of photos.

from Alabama

I pulled a book off one of my "Odd shelves" or collection of

 "hodgepodge of books"

and interestingly enough this very book
is on my shelf

has a chapter devoted to,
my shelf of odd or mixed topic books.
The author, Anne Fadiman says this,

"It has long been my belief that everyone's library contains an
Odd Shelf. On this shelf rests a small, mysterious corpus of volumes whose subject matter is completely unrelated to the rest of the library, yet which, upon closer inspection, revels a good deal about its owner."

"We delight in the beauty of the butterfly,
but rarely admit the changes
it has gone through to achieve that beauty."
Maya Angelou

"Some people could look at a mud puddle
and see an ocean with ships."
Zora Neale Hurston

Or take pots and pans-
they can achieve so much more than cooking!

My backyard

Caught you Misty!

We took a walk through my oldest son's neighborhood last night,
and what fun we had finding
Halloween decorations waiting to be noticed!

This monster or ghost hiding in a bush was one of my favorites!

See Emmie checking out the decorations too?

Walk together.
Feel the heart beats.
Experience the presence.
This is how to be thankful.

Thanks for stopping by and
Enjoy the rest of your weekend
and may next week be filled with joy and happiness!

Critters Day

Greetings and bark! Bark!

Direction gives life clarity.

Dog's daily motto-
"Never let a good day go to waste."
They're all good days.

"Keep a spring in your step
and a dog at your heels
(or inside your wagon)
and happiness will follow you
everywhere you go."

Look, a birdie flew right into my post for today!

Meet a fascinating, independent little critter-
A Box Turtle
(they can close up their shell completely)
from Alabama.

(and yes one Box Turtle friend is right underneath)

Always be kind to critters that enter your life.

Love freely given is love gained.

Halloween brings the silly out for a good number of humans.

There's
No contest here-
both are adorable cutie pies!

Meet Wonder Woman and her little Dog Wonder

Really? Are they serious, bark, bark!

Meet Princess of the Cardboard Box mountain

Yep, our sweet kitty doesn't need big expensive toys-
any box will do!

I just know Dash is pondering-
It's going to be dog day at the spa very soon
his fur grows way too quickly!

"The reason a dog has so many friends
 is that he
wags his tail instead of his tongue."

Say what you want mama, this dog believes
we must all-

Grasp life with all four paws.

It always makes me so happy when you stop by to say hello!

Enjoy your day doggone it
no matter what you do!
